First Presbyterian
Church has many opportunities to worship and praise God. Listed below are just
some of the many ways we come together as a church family.
First
Presbyterian Church holds a traditional worship service every Sunday at 11:00am
in the Sanctuary. First Presbyterian also offers a contemporary worship
experience we call the Early Morning Worship Service. This service is held every
Sunday beginning at 9:00 in the relaxed setting
of our Ministry Center. Child care is provided for both services.
Sunday School begins at 9:45am.
We offer a wide range of Sunday School opportunities
for children, youth, and adults. For more information on Sunday School, please
There are also special
services throughout the year celebrating Advent, Easter, and Thanksgiving.
Other
Worship Opportunities
The
Sacrament of the Lord's Supper is celebrated on the first Sunday of each quarter,
and at several other times during the year. The Sacrament is also made available
to our shut-in members. During Holy Week communion is celebrated around the
Lord's Table on Maundy Thursday. At our Christmas Eve Communion Service, we
celebrate the Lord's Supper by the ancient method of intinction as once done by
our Scottish ancestors.
In addition to Sunday morning services,
the Youth Groups for Mid-High and Senior High youth meet on Sunday evening for
dinner and a program; a Prayer Group meets every Wednesday morning, and various
Bible study groups meet throughout the month. Check the church calendar for details and schedule for each of these groups.

First
Presbyterian Church has musical opportunities for all ages. There are singing
choirs for elementary ages through retirement. We also have an adult hand bell
choir.
Adult
Choir
The
Adult Choir is led by Choirmaster Don Rogers, and accompanied by Janet
Miller. The choir consists of approximately 25 members and participates in
leading worship services every Sunday, and for special services. An historic
Moehler pipe organ, coupled with the excellent acoustics of our magnificent octagonal sanctuary,
provide a beautiful backdrop for music that enhances all of the services at FPC.
The Adult Choir rehearses every Wednesday night at 7:00. The schedule is subject
to change so check the church calendar for exact
dates and times.
Youth
Choir
The Youth Choir is led by Dr. Shirley Fishburne. This choir is for youth ages third grade and up. Rehearsals are weekly.
See the church calendar for dates and times.
Hand Bell Choir
TheRoy S. Hutchison Joyful Ringers
is an English hand bell style choir. The choir is open to anyone who reads music and has good rhythm. The choir
has four octaves of Malmark bells and two octaves of Whitechapel hand chimes. The
Joyful Ringers participates in numerous services throughout the year.
If
you would like to learn more about any of our music programs or are interested
in joining one of our groups, please give the Church Office a call at 328-2467,
or send an E-Mail to info@fpcrh.org.
